Today we release a free version of DeviceAtlas Cloud for web developers who need an easy and reliable way to identify device type (mobile, tablet, desktop, TV etc), OS and browser in their web applications. It's available to your web application as a web service built on the DeviceAtlas Cloud infrastructure and it’s completely free to use.

The importance of handling visitors on a range of different device types has now become a basic necessity in order to optimize experiences when developing a website. We have decided to introduce a free version of our Cloud product to enable anybody to identify the following properties with one simple solution that can be easily added to the your website with just a snippet of code.

Gain awareness of the Operating System name and version .

Reports the browsert name, version and rendering engine.

How does it work?
The service is implemented via an API call to DeviceAtlas servers. Simply sign up to download in the environment of your choice, drop a code snippet into your web pages and DeviceAtlas will seamlessly keep your applications capable of identifying and handling traffic from any device category via our up-to-date database of the latest devices released to the market.That’s it, no further effort is required to stay up to date.
This free DeviceAtlas Cloud license is available for all the same environments as the commerical Cloud licenses:

The free Cloud license gives you a generous 50,000 detections per month which may be sufficent for sites with modest detection needs.
If you need more detections or device information, you can easily upgrade to our paid Cloud or locally deployed versions which provide more detections, more information and the ability to support more websites and applications.
